How to Adopt
Our adoption process is designed to ensure the best match between dogs and families.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Timing varies with volunteer availability; scheduling the home visit is usually the longest step.
Complete the adoption application form with information about your household, pet history, and living situation.
A volunteer contacts your veterinarian to confirm all household pets are current on vaccinations and preventatives.
An adoption coordinator schedules a phone interview to discuss your experience, lifestyle, and expectations.
A volunteer visits your home to ensure it's a safe and suitable environment. All household members and pets should be present.
Approved adopters are matched with a dog, sign the adoption contract, and welcome their new family member home.
It depends on the dog. Some high-energy dogs need a securely fenced yard, while others do well with leash walks. Each dog's listing notes what they need.
Yes, all household members and pets must attend the meet-and-greet. This helps us ensure compatibility for everyone.
Contact us as soon as possible and we will work with you on next steps. We ask that dogs come back to the rescue rather than being rehomed independently.
We cannot guarantee the pedigree of any dog. Dogs are selected based on temperament, not solely on their looks.
Adoption fees help cover veterinary care: exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter. Your adoption coordinator can tell you exactly what is included for your dog.
If your dog goes home before being spayed or neutered, a $75 refund upon proof of spay/neuter applies.
